Hello! the 1978 XS1100E came stock with a sealed beam; I have an NOS one of those also, P.N. 2H7-84320-60. Everything in this kit is required to change up. The sealed beams are notoriously feeble - OK for around town but not so much for country touring at night. Barely adequate to even attract a deer. Trust me on that one

P.S. I did locate the rubber boot that fits over the bulb holder and will be including it with the kit. Part Number 2H9-84397-00, "Cover, Socket" in the Description area of the tag.

OK , I think all the Canadian ones came with the quartz bulb. Never saw a square sealed beam here , and very early on I went to the 'Snowmobile "shop and got an off road 100/80 W bulb much better

Was that headlight assembly ever purchased? I would love to buy one of those so I can have a decent light. Thanks
