There are a lot of differences between a 78 harness and an 80 harness. All of the signal and lighting switched are different, as are the brake lights. I know that even the fuse box connections and TCI connections and location are different on the 80 than on the 78 as well. You would either have to do major surgery on the bike, or on the harness to make it work, and it would likely be less work to just fix your harness unless yours was extremely cut up.Cy
