Looking for a front master brake cylinder--don't need the brake line. Anyone have one they want to sell for a reasonable price? Thanks!

The standard and the special front master cylinder are different so if you have a special you will want to look for a special mc.Nathan

Good point-- the bike is a standard. The PO did some mods to it, for example it has a special tank, but I am pretty sure the front calipers, etc. are still standards.1979 XS1100 F

Didn't mean to offend anyone with the offer. Like I said, I have no idea what a fair price is.1979 XS1100 F

Don't think anyone was offended, he probably hasn't looked back in this thread. Send him a on and he may be more likely to see it and respond.Nathan

For pricing reference, I like to look things up on Fleabay and get a flavor for what is out there in what condition at what price. Gives you some point of reference anyway. Also look at some of the sites like Bike Bandit, Parts-n-more, or others to see what they have and what new cost.

Are you missing yours, or is it damaged beyond repair? If not, rebuild kits are only about $25 (available from PartsNMore, eBay) and will restore yours to good, usable condition.
Pretty much anything you'd find on eBay will probably need the same...Last edited by crazy steve; 03-19-2011, 10:47 PM.Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

Mikes XS has a real nice new one for 75 bucks. I got tired of ugly old leaky ones and went new a while back. It was one of the nicer mods I've done to the bike...

Mine is intact, just leaky. I was hoping to find one working, but I may have to go the rebuild route. Thanks!1979 XS1100 F

Georgefix on ebay sells the rebuild kit very reasonable. Other than getting that bloody little cir-clip out, the job to rebuild is a piece of cake.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

These are reportedly not hard to do (wouldn't know, haven't had to do mine, it works well, I'm quite happy with how it works so far) and the kit is pretty reasonable in price.Nathan
