1980 XS1100 Vetter Fairing, saddlebags, trunk, etc.

I'm selling this stuff off separately. It's in great condition with maybe a few minor scratches here and there:

-Vetter fairing with windshield, lowers, wiring harness, and all mounting bracketry- $negotiable$

-Vetter saddlebags, all mounting hardware, with locks and keys- $negotiable$

-Vetter trunk with locks and keys- $negotiable$

-Front crash bars with foot pegs and lighting. Excellent- $negotiable$

-Rear crash bars with lighting and wiring. Excellent- $negotiable$

My prices are based upon condition of items and comparison to what I have found for sale on eBay, etc. If you are interested in anything, please send me a PM. Thank you.

Here are some pics of the items on the bike. I will be taking them off today and getting separate pics. One more thing to note is that the trunk and saddlebags will be a package at $negotiable$. I'm not going to separate those since the bracketry supports it all. The lighting on the trunk will go with it. The seat, which is not yet listed (because I don't have a replacement yet to road test the bike), will also be available. By itself, it's $negotiable$. For everything, minus the front and rear crash bars, I'll go $negotiable$ w/seat. I'm going to wait a bit before I separate it all to see if anyone wants the whole kit and kaboodle.

Truly Beautiful

That is one truly beautiful bike and the fairing/trunk/panniers are great. If you decide to sell on Ebay, raise your prices. If they are in as good a shape as they seem 500 dollars will be about right for the lot.

As nice as that set looks in the pics, I'm always leery of Vetter luggage that has been painted. They were ALL black, textured PVC that doesn't usually take paint very well. Once it flexes, the paint tends to crack and peel.

It looks like someone played with the lighting on the trunk too. Are they set up with turn signals in the trunk, along with tail/brake lights, or how does your setup work?

That "rear crash bar" setup looks like the original mounts for the Yamaha saddlebags. They might be valuable to someone with the factory bag setup.

There is some paint chipping off the rearmost area of the trunk.

Yes, a trailer hitch for the matching trailer I have. That will be sold, too, but after I address the cracked fiberglass top of the trailer. Not sure if I am going to repair it, or sell it as is.

In the pictures, it appears that the outer 2 lenses are amber (turn signals) and the inner are red (tail and/or brake). They came with ALL red originally, and would all light up at the same time. How do yours work? Do the outer ones only light up as turn signals? Is that "factory" Vetter plug a black thing, with a springy piece on one side to lock it into the trunk?

Ok, I didn't know they are supposed to be all red. Yes, it's wired so the amber are turn signals. There's also a pigtail off the back for the trailer wiring.

I'm thinking I may just eBay everything. I'm going to take it all apart, and even sell the lowers and bracketry separate. Reading the Vetter website, the mounting bracket alone for the fairing ran as high as $125. I also forgot that I have an entire stereo system for the fairing that I will be selling, too. It has an old cassette deck and speakers in the Vetter housing. I kind of wanted to sell the whole shebang to somebody, but it looks like it will be more worth my while to just part it all out. After pricing out a new seat for the bike, I'll need every dollar I can get. Unbelievable how expensive they are.
