  • king and queen for standard...

I may be buying another 79f. Only thing is its got the seat with the super high passenger back rest. Made for the specials I think... guess I shoulda kept my old extra standard seat...
Any way leather is a little rough but cushion is good. Any body interested in swapping for a standar seat?

You looking for just the stock seat or something else? I have a couple spares around, one stock in great condition, one aftermarket in decent shape.
Any pics of the one you have for trade?

I will take some. The seat needs to be recovered. I am just going to restore the bike to sell it. So I need a stock 79 seat for a standard. The. Cowl is kind Of messed up as well. The leather doesn't need to be in great shape because I have a spare seat cover. I just. Need good cushion.

              K/q seat

              Will that fit a '79 xs1100e?

Not certain, but I thought they made tow of those high back models. A taller one for the 79 model year and a shorter one, like that pictured, for the 80 model year. At least that is what my febal little brain recalls at the moment.

It all depends on the pan the seat is on. You can fit about any configuration of foam and material on top of the pan, but the pan determines how it mounts and fits to the frame, fender, TCI etc.

The 79 Special models had a one year only pan. The 80 and 81 model year Specials share the same pan. The 78-79 Standards likewise share the same pan, and the 80-81 Standards I belive also share a pan. But Standard pans do not fit on Special models, and vice versa.

While thta does not directly answer your question, it does give incite to the info needed to answer it. Which is, do you own a Standard or a Special model bike (per the VIN code). And is that seat pan for a 79 Special, an 80 Special, or some other model or year?

I own 2 79 standards and this seat was on it. It looks like the 79 xs750 special seat I had. It has the bollts on the bottom to mount to the standard frame. I posted pics of it somewhere on here...???
