  • Hard Bags - 1979 XS11 For Sale

I am selling hardbags from my 79 XS11. I do not have the keys, and they could use some paint. I can e-mail pics if you are interested. I am not sure what to ask for them, so make me an offer and we can discuss. Thanks

I might also be interested. My bike has a Vetter Windjammer, a Vetter trunk, but some black German hard bags that don't match. I'd like to find some 70's Vetter hard bags that do. If they're red and black and equally as faded as my trunk, that's even better.

        Hey Sojourner,
What are your plans for those eye-sore non-matching bags?

I'll sell them or trade them once I find a nice set of matching Vetter bags and verify they'll hold a 15" laptop. Mine hard bags are made by some company who's name begins with a K IIRC. The funny thing is they actually state "Made in West Germany" on the inside. I know the whole East/West Germany thing; it's just odd to see remnents of it floating around still.

Good luck. Please give me a shout when you do. I'm not too worried about my bike matching... uh, I mean... I'll take those kraut eye-sores off your hands!
If they were made in the early 80's I'm surprised they don't say "Made in WEST Germany" so there would be no confusion with stuff made to the east under Soviet occupation and quality control.

My non-matching bags are made by Krauser of (formerly) West Germany. From everything I can tell, they are high end bags that you normally find on BMWs. Not sure why they're on my XS11SF, but they sure as hell don't match my Vetter trunk and fairing.

              $400 NOS...

My particular bags look like the $400 set. They've got the Krauser logo in the upper left, and the $99 set doesn't.

I could live with those. You're probably going to have to see what mounting hardware you get with the new set before you decide what you can let go with the bags which will effect your price. If you would, please let me know when you find some at gijoe003@aol.com since I may not be able to check here but so often. THANKS!
