The body/casing is different for each one? The guy I have doing the carbs said it didn't matter but I will call him back. I'm pretty sure it's either #2 or #3.Comment

Well, kinda. #2 is has the vacuum port on it for the Vacuum advance. #1 is set with fuel ports that point toward #2 (a tee goes between them), and #3 and #4 have a tee between them, so their ports point at each other. I would say that #1 and 3 are the same, but #1 has a spot to install the detent ball/spring for the choke/enricher rod. IIRC, only #4 has that same hole.1980 XS850SG - Sold
