79 xs11 motor 2,000 miles in Detroit

This guy says he has a 2,000 mile xs11 motor for sale in the Detroit area. I'm not sure I would trust him enough to have it shipped but if you could pick it up in person it may be a great motor. I contacted this person via ebay and advised that I have a friend in Detroit who could pick this motor up and pay him. He has not responded since, so becareful..................

I just spend fifteen minutes typeing up my recent experience with this ebay seller in detroit,,,,, hasittogether,,,,,. the site seems to have thrown out my message even though I was signed in.

AArrrrggghh,,,,so,, to sum things up quickly,,, I would beware of this seller on ebay unless you personally can go and inspect the goods yourself beforehand. He and I emailed a few times, he sounds rather hard sell ish,, and hype ish. He was surprised when I asked what the compression numbers were on the motor, even though he boasts of being a service manager in a bike shop for twenty five yrs. For someone of his reported experience, a compression check on that motor could have been done in ten minutes, he did send me picks of the rolling chassis and the picks SHOW a very clean looking rolling chassis with a totally stock looking setup, very clean, obviously stored totally inside. He also told me that he had been selling on ebay for five years, even though , he had only two feedbacks at that time. He also claims, that he sold the carbs for two hundred, in a rusty state, to someone in a foreign country. At that time, he had ZERO feedback, and no listing of carbs in his past on ebay. This seller does APPEAR to be building positive feedback rather quickly with a bunch of low priced items. But low priced items, are the way to build quick and phony feedback too, so,,,being only a couple hours away from this seller, I am not gonna waste my time going to look it over, but if I was right there in Royal Oak, his addy,,I would go over and take a good look. Also, this seller,, hasittogether,,, told me he had five yrs experience selling on ebay, and when I asked how he happend to have only two feedbacks at the time, he never replied again. He did however tell me that I could visit his shop to look at the parts which goes against something stated previously. Buyer beware here.
