    79 Special parting out

    I have a 79 special that I have decided has to go. I got the bike about six months ago. It had been sitting for about six years before I got it.

    I got 500 in the bike and the bike has all the parts.

    The gas tank and side panels were repainted black before it was put in storage. It was a very good job no orange peeling but could use a little wax.

    I was told the transmission and engine were good by the previous owner. The bike has a little over 11000 on the ticker so I have no reason to doubt him. The motor does turn over and the oil in the trans and rear end looks clean.

    I rebuilt the brake calipers and it has new pads. The seat is also in good shape.

    The carbs are curently being rebuilt by a fellow xs1100 forum member. When those get back they will also be for sale.

      I'm located in Great Lakes IL near the navy base so if anyone is close by and wants to swing by that would be cool.

        I also meant to add, if anyone needs a kickstarter off an xs 850 I got one of those too.

                    Update:

                    Not much left of the bike, it looks like a swarm of locusts hit it.

                    I still have the frame with paperwork, engine/trans, and front brake callipers. thats it. Thanks
