Cutom made XS11 mirrors

I have started making these custom made brass or aluminum mirrors. Yes, even with the left hand thread on the one side if you want a matched pair.
If you order a single mirrr, it is made as a single, if you order a pair, they will be made as a matched pair. No other order is the same. Your mirror(s) is(are)unique.
The heads are 2 inch diameter, with a 1 7/8 mirrored surface.

Cost is 50 dollars for the aluminum, 60 for the brass. That includes shipping in the lower 48 states.

There are other places to get free web hosting. Google used to give away free hosting.

Without pix and prices, you will have a tough time getting people interested in your products.

Well the price is right ther in the first post. 50 dollars each for aluminum, 60 forbrass. That includes shipping in the lower 48. And yes, I am working on fidning a better server for the photos. I already have the network 54 account, that I pay for, so it was a logical place to serve the photos from. I know better now and will look for a better place to serve the photos from.
Are you interested in the mirrors? I can send you photos if you like.
Or did I accidentally break a rule by posting something for sale here?
I just figured that custom mirrors for XS11 owners might not be something thats easily found, with the left hand thread and all. If there is no interest I'll delete the post. Sorry

I'm curious what they look like but I don't know if I want a set yet. I bought a set of the Mike XS mirrors for guys with big shoulders but I still have a little trouble seeing behind me.

Other direction

These would be more for someone who built a hotrod or chopped XS11 and lives by the Gumball Rally phrase "Whats behind us is not important".
Again, they are 2 inches diameter heads, wtih 1 7/8 mirrored surface. They are not a BIG mirror for seeing around BIG riders, They are, small custom mirrors for custom bikes. Still a useable surface to see out of but in the endless fight between form and function, Form has the edge this time.
If pure function is your goal then BIG mass production mirrors are the way to go, not small custom mirrors.
These are just made by me, in my garage, on my lathe and knee-mill. You won't find these in a catalog. If ordered as a single mirror, then you get a single mirror, ther eis not antoehr mirror like yours anywhere on the planet. If you order a pair, then I make a matched pair, but there will ntobe a second set exactly like your pair. Some folks like that. Others prefer the mass produced products. To each their own. I'm just offering one option.
Mikes XS offers the other, So does Parts Unlimited, but I like Mikes XS a lot.

BTW, you got me what the H is a knee-mill? Also have you considered making the plates for the hydraulic clutch conversion discussed here recently? There would be a market for those...

As for the ebay idea. I really don't want to deal with Ebay if it can be avoided. I have been making these mirrors for a few years for the HD riders, and just thought that since I ride the XS11 that others might like custom parts also. Heck I also make a bunch of Guzzi parts but didn't think they needed mention here.
As for the Knee Mill. Silent is corect, I misused the term because its easier to type out than "benchtop sized bridgeport clone". It is a small Bridgeport clone. I have a Jet brand clone on the way as soon as I can arrange a trailer that will handle the weight.

The reason I asked is that I plan to buy a milling machine in the next year or so and the more I can learn on the subject the better.

I started out selling my electrical products on fleaBay and it's a 2 edged sword. On one side you have great exposure and on the other you have high fees. I put my business name in all my listings and I manage to steer some of my eBay sales to my website.

If you're buying a manual mill, my sugestion is a Bridgeport knee-mill. You can adjust the head in 2 axis rather than a single axis on a normal vertical mill. 3 axis digitals are really nice things to have also. But a 2 axis digital with an indicator on the quill works very well too

I'll look into it. Can you suggest a forum where I can ask more machining questions? I don't know if I'll get a lathe or a mill first, I can think of a dozen or more uses for both...

It depends on what you want to do. A lathe spins the work, a mill spins the tool. My personal preference is a CNC vertical mill. I've done small scale lathe work on a manual mill. Then again, I've made cubes on lathes Sorry, I don't know any forums for machining, even tho I've been doing this since somewhere around '82. Feel free to pm with any questions, I'll do what I can to answer them
