  • 1982 XJ1100 parting out. Texas, DFW area

I loved my 1982 Maxim right up till the time that the crankshaft broke on the way to work a couple of weeks ago. Engine head, #3 and 4 pistons, valves guides etc are no good. Carbs, cylinders, valve cover, cams and case all appear good but I have not split the case yet. Everything worked on the bike except brake fluid level indications had failed and were disconnected, and 1 (or 2) of the carb float valves was not seating completely, I had to turn off the gas with the petcocks. I had moved the rear turnsignals back on to the rear fender (drilled holes) to add leather bags. The carb holders are about 2 years old and in perfect shape. Tank and side covers (maroon color), forks, fenders, wheels, tires, seat, lights, handlebars, controls, speedo/tac/annunciator assy and windshield all in very good condition with little to no rust or visible wear. Rear luggage rack has some light rust with no pitting. The bike was garage kept. Frame and large parts would prefer local pickup only with cash. I will get pictures available for email. Email me at: hentz.mike@gmail.com .
    Ride on.
    Mike

Pfffftt.. Maybe.. if you didn't throw like a girl..

Not that I don't think many would appreciate the parts, but you can simply get another complete motor pretty cheap and keep the bike.

My aim is getting MUCH better, thank you very much... You better watch it... your head would make a great target...

Wait... I AM a girl... How else am I supposed to throw?
        lol

        (again)

Fix it rather than part it out...
Oh sure... go and be all sensible like that...
        for a change....

        lol

but Mike, if you DO still want to part it out... You have my number...

I'm not sure about the countershaft bolt. My mechanic is doing the breakdown and most hardware is in a box - I will check. right front calliper is sold.
