  • XS1100E 2 Sets Hard Bags, Excellent++ Condition!

I am reposting these bags 'cause the price and trade has changed, and the previous listings cannot be edited. Either set for $150? What is the swap value? Tell a friend and pick 'em both up!

Trade the whole lot (both sets) for equal condition square headlight bucket, front & rear signal mounting hardware, a set of uncracked intake manifolds, and the small chrome lifting handle that goes under the left side seat frame. What do you have?

#1. Complete set of Yamaha Hard Bags in Macho Maroon with all mounts, rails, and keys in excellent++ condition. They show virtually no signs of wear, and are as clean inside as they are on the outside. One lid has been replaced and has no gold accent stripe, but otherwise are near perfect with no fade, rust, corrosion, or damage. The also come with 2 New lower fiberglass buckets still in the original box. I can also throw in a Turn Signal Lite Bar if needed:

#2. Samsonite TriBar quick detach bags, tour pack & luggage rack with adjustable padded back rest designed specifically for the XS1100 Standard. The bags and trunk are much like the BMW suitcase style, and fit the lines of the Standard beautifully. Quick Detach, with no obtrusive brackets when bags and trunk are removed. A nice Signal Lite Bar can be included:

Both sets are from very nice XS1100E's. Too large to ship, pick-up would be best unless buyer pays packing and post; I can meet part way within about 100 miles, which includes the Minneapolis area. The bags are located near Menomonie Wisconsin. For info please eMail war_bar@hotmail.com or call 715-962-2188. Thanks!

P.S., If TC is looking, please delete the last two posts - not trying to spam the thread
Sure it's gonna make some noise, there's GAS exploding in there!

Will this fit my 1979 XS11 Special? Will the maroon hards bags? Thanks

      trade

Hi, I would be interested in that trade but I am in PA so some shipping would be required. I will look thru my collection and see if I can meet your terms.
I always wanted a set of those samsonite bags.
      thanks

Hello Deep Sea Alan & Acof911,

        Thanks for the messages!
Alan: Both sets were removed from 'Standards,' but as I understand, a modification to the lower mount(s) would be required for the Bags to convert to a Special; I do not know what (if anything) would be required to mount the Tour Pack for the Samsonite set.

The Macho Maroon bags would be the more difficult to mount as there may be issues with the crash bar/bumper portion, and the inner bag brackets are solid pieces of sheet metal - bending and/or drilling required. The Samsonite's should be much easier IMHO because the lower brackets for the bag mounts are seperate chrome struts, and can be modified or replaced with different struts.

Probably best if there is a Standard to compare with as I do not know if there would be issues with key access or interference with the different seat profile. On the Standard, these bags fit great, and there is plenty of clearance all around, and the key was easy to use. Key goes in from the top on the bags, and rear for the tour pack.

acof911: That would get my 2nd machine back on the road. #1 is basically a show bike now, and I seldom ride it to keep it nice and clean (rain turns a quick wipe-down into an all day job). The main issue is the physical size of the entire set; it is very light, but physically quite large. I live in a very rural location, and do not have a source for packing boxes (especially large ones) within 30+ miles :-(. If I tried to package them myself, it would be at least an all day job including driving time, and new boxes and padding materials are pricey... It would probably take 2 or 3 boxes judging from past experience.

Thanks again, and enjoy the 4th!
        Warren

          boxes etc.

Hi Warren, I know what you mean looking for boxes and the time it takes to get that stuff done.
If you don't make a deal with someone else that is close I could always ship some boxes up there to make it easier.
          thanks.

              Hi Dave,

Thanks for the message! The Macho Maroon bags went down the road over the weekend; the gentleman was very pleased, but I could not convince him to take both sets - oh well. The 3 piece Samsonites with the backrest are still available.

              Cheers,
              Warren

                  Hello, and thanks to everyone!

It looks as though the Samsonite Luggage is finding a new home, and the hard bags have already headed for a Southern climate. The Samsonite transaction is pending, but am sure everything will work out just fine

Again, thanks to everyone, and it is a pleasure to be part of this community!

                  Cheers,
                  Warren
