  • 1979 XS11 Special Tank and Handlebars

I replaced the tank and handlebars on my bike and had a question for everyone here.

The handlebars are somewhat bent but they look like they could be restored, I just don't have the tools necessary to do it (and got a replacement for $10 that's a more comfortable configuration for me anyway).

Additionally I replaced the tank on the bike, but I'll be honest, my big fat thigh smacked it when I went down, so there's a pretty big dent in it. However, I don't know if it's useful to anyone (figured I'd put out feelers before I attempt to recycle it someplace).

If anyone's interested in either, let me know and we can work something out. I'd hate to recycle/toss out the parts if they're useful to someone - they're just not useful to me now.

    Any pictures of the tank?

I can get pics of the tank - but I'll admit, it's pretty dented - like I said, I have big thighs.

Then again, I don't know if it's salvageable or not - someone on another post asked about petcocks - I haven't heard back on that though.

I have a leaky tank at the moment and just need something to band-aid the problem until I can find a "pretty" replacement. I'd be glad to have the shell if someone needs the hardware off it.
