  • bike's going in the shop AGAIN!!

Looks like it's time to make my bobber. Got a call from metric customs' and the guy told me he would be ready for my bike very soon. So if anyone need some parts let me know. I'll have a bunch left over. Mostly boy parts, ie... Seat sissy bar, both fenders and all the lighting tail, headlight, turn signals etc. The exhaust is getting rebuilt to. So i'd like to sell the stock exhaust too. If anyone is interested in any of this pm me and i'll send pic's or info on what your wanting. Everything is stock 79xs1100 special parts. And it's all in VERY NICE condition. So just letting yall know if there's something you want let me know. I'll also have nice set of side covers (black) leftover as well. Just a heads up. It'll be a week or two before i drop it off so i'll let you know.
Yes it's a damn nice bike, yes it's in REALLY good condition, yes it would be a shame to chop it, BUT damn how cool would it look with ape hangers?

    Turn signals?

I might be interested in your turn signals if the chrome is in really good condition... I was polishing on my bike yesterday and noticed mine is starting to peel a bit...

Looking forward to seeing how your bike turns out...

Bowtied, those parts are bringing alot of $$$$ if they are in nice shape, factory exhausts, headlight set ups, side coves ect. Odds are you could pay for your bobber by selling them off on ebay. I saw a factory exhaust go for $1,100 about this time a year or two ago....it was in perfect condition though..........Anyway what are the plans for the bobber?

yeah i have no idea what to ask for any of this stuff so i might just throw it up on ebay and call it a day.

As far as the turn signals kat mine on the front i replaced brand new last summer there in awesome shape. As for the Back there in pretty good shape to. Haven't paid to much attention to them but there in good shape last i recall.

xslover, the bike's going to be an old school bobber. It's gonna have ape hangers, solo seat, steel painted rear fender, side mount tag, different exhaust, and a dual square headlight setup. and no front fender. I know theres a bunch more i'm forgetting but thats all for now. And it's gonna be repainted to!

            hey bowtied,
just a thought, if u do ditch the front fender, make sure u get urself a fork brace to stabilise the forks, otherwise your
            handling wont be the best.
looking 4ward to seeing the pics.

                Hi Bowtied,
you can always choose not to ride out if it's raining, but sometimes you can't choose not to ride back home if it's raining.
In those times, without a front fender you will have difficulty seeing oncoming traffic through the inverted waterfall coming off your front wheel and when you get home your children will say,
"Mommy, Mommy, there's a ball of mud with eyes riding Daddy's bobber!"

This is true fred. I guess i'll have to find me a paintable fender thats not so big. I guess that's next on the list then.

                    TKat forkbrace

                    Hey Bowtied,
a lot of us are running this forkbrace on our bikes:

                    TKat forkbrace
Go to Links and then click the link on that page...
It should take you to the information page for the forkbrace...

It's made by a member here...
Seems to be doing a great job on my bike... and I haven't heard (read) anyone else complaining...
