  • 81 XS1100 parting out

I have half a dozen complete project bikes in my garage now, so it's time for me to clear some stuff out. I am not sure which direction I am going to go with this bike, so I am going to part it out or sell it as a complete parts bike.

I have the original title in hand. Make me an offer on any parts or everything. The bike has only 3,725 original miles. Although it is stored in my garage now, it sat outside for almost 10 years, as evident by the surface rust. I would like to point out that one of the four spark plugs broke off in the head when I tried to replace it (see picture). That made my decision to get rid of it.

I'm located in Bloomington, IL. I accept paypal, check, cash, money order.

I will entertain all reasonable offers

I'd be interested in the CycleSound (without the radio). How's ten dollars sound? I have one, but it has some cracks.

I forgot to add/take pictures of the side fairing that I also have. They bolt to the bottom of the front fairing, and protect your legs. They also cover up much of the engine.

I'm not sure if the motor is locked up. I have removed all the spark plugs and filled each cylinder with Deep Creep. I wanted to let it soak for a few weeks before I even try to turn it over, just to be safe. It could be perfectly fine, it could be locked up as tight as Fort Knox, I dont know. Next week when I get back in town from work related traveling, I will try to turn it over.

            Christian,

How about selling me just the CycleSound for $10.00? I'll give you my DHL account to ship it. I have one, but it's cracked in several places, and I could use one that's not.

My regular email is forxtradr@yahoo.com. I don't need the radio, so you can take that out to reduce weight. The speakers can stay with the unit, if they are OK.

            Thanks.

Christian, what do you want for the whole bike?

I would rather sell the bike as a whole, rather than part it out. So I am entertaining all of those offers first. I'll sell it for 400 firm. I've decided if I can't sell it complete after a few weeks, then I will part it out. I am currently on the road for work and will not return until next week. Also, for the next three days I will be in the wilderness of northern Michigan, were interenet connections have never been seen, so please be patient. Thanks

Is there any new developments on this bike? If stuff is still available, I am interested in the saddlebags if they are not cracked or warped. Don't need the rails, just the bags. My bags bit the bullet last week.

Sorry guys, I just sold the bike on Sunday. The new owner should be getting on here and getting an account. He plans to take everything off the bike and make it into a bobber.
