Steven, What you are trying to do is not legal. If the motorcycle as you described basically no longer exists then you legally have to surrender the title to your dmv in your state.2 - 80 LGs bought one new

I agree with cajun31 on the legality issue. But what intrigues me is the information plate. Why is that present? Where did it come from? The numbers on an XS11 are clearly stamped on the neck and there is no plate present. It's an interesting piece. Maybe it's a salvage thing in Pennsylvania. Can you explain the plate Gallaecus?

Yeah, I've seen this before in other states. In Michigan if you have a frame and engine with mis matched numbers you get issued an "assembled" title and in the case of PA you also get that plate to identify it as such. Sure, a guy COULD save a whole lot of time and money by tacking this into his own project but in my case I'll pass.
