Missed the ending of the auction, out in the garage with a friend come to visit.
Ended up selling for $560, one thing though being a dealer they must have the buyer pay the tax and title transfer fee, plates would be optional the plate could be done at a later date or not at all if it ends up being parts.

I've been looking for a 1979 XS1100SF for a while now. I had seen this bike on Cycle Trader and I believe they were asking around $1400, I think it was on craigslist as well. Anyway I put a bid on the ebay auction but got outbid....I figured oh well I'll get 'em next time. Well I received an email for a 2nd chance offer, I guess the winner hadn't paid. I called the guy directly and negotiated a price of $500 which includes free delivery. Bike is supposed to be here tomorrow morning. Woohoo!
I'm hoping the bike isn't in too rough a shape. I was looking for something to work on anyway so hopefully I can get it cleaned up and running ready for next spring. I know I'll need some parts just going off the pics.....rear grab bar, possibly the air cleaner box or at least the lower half of it because it appears to be missing in the pics. Well with your guys help and ebay I'm sure this bike will be back on the road in no time.
We'll be looking for pictures and watching the story unfold.
SF Grab bar is hard to find.
