The bike is listed as $2000 OBO. For a forum member, I will take $1500. The bike starts and runs. I drove it to be inspected a few weeks ago. I am currently installing Dyna DC1-1 coils.

...Sold.... officially out of the ancient motorcycle active ownership club. Emeritus?

Sold it to a young guy who brought his dad to the viewing. After he purchased, I drove it to his house and gave him a parking lot slow speed maneuvering lesson. He has homework now to become adept at handing the bike starting and stopping.

The final ride on the bike was all back roads of NC which was a blast on the XJ1100. I will miss riding it.....

Glad you got it sold..that didnt last long...LOL I already have one old bike to reckon with...If i get another bike it is gona be a freaking modern day sport tour machine..FJR.13 or a C14 or a ST1100 something that i'm not worried about the integrity of the welds because of their age...

        Hi HalfCentury,
Selling your XJ means you are no longer a Vice President however you are a FOXS ( Former owner of an XS) for as long as you hang out here at XS11.com so don't run away

Y'all can still come to the Vintage Yamaha Rally (XS Southeast), but I and whoever else I get to join me, am going to give you an endless amount of crap. No long distance award goes to someone on an ST Something.

I really do hope you'll stay in the fold.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. I plan to be at the IH for the rally riding the FJR. I have an appointment Friday of next week to have a professional mechanic rebuild the forks, install new steering bearings and seals and do a valve clearance adjustment. I will be in the shop with him learning how to do the forks.

It should go faster with two people than with one.

Looking forward to meeting the crew and riding some twisties. Can't think of a better way to spend an extended weekend.
