    Hey guys! I'm new here. Live in Iowa and love riding. I have a 1980 XS11 that I picked up from a buddy for pretty cheap. Had some wiring issues that i fixed and put a new seat cover on the old girl. Now shes pretty sharp looking. I'm wanting to sell it just curious if there is any interest and even if there isn't here maybe some advise on how much its worth? Thanks so much!

    Nick,

    From the one pic it looks OK, but there are a few issues that may lower its value.

    It is a 1980 Standard - from the front forks, rotors, tank and gauges we see that - fewer Standards in 1980 but not few enough to be rare.

    The pipes were taken from a Special and are no longer the longer pipes that extended past the touring bags popular on the Standards. They look decent though.

    The seat and grabbar are from a 79 Special and not correct to the year, and the cover is nice but not a stock pattern. I only mention it because if someone is looking to restore a bike its one more non-stock item to replace despite being new.

    How many miles? Under 30k and it is a bit more appealing - not that these bikes are not known for 100k, 250k or more miles but everyone likes low miles.

    Bars look correct. Rear fender also seems to be from a 79 - the 80 bikes had the taillight up under the seat and grabbar.

    If you have it running strong and smooth, carbs squeaky clean and tuned properly I would say you could get about $1500 - if running rough needing a tune and being a Frankenbike more like $1200. Both assume clear title.

    Post more info and pics and you may get a bite.

      Oh wow, I had no idea it was such a combination of years. Thank you so much for the info. It has 21,xxx miles on it right now. I haven't had it very long and don't know all that much about them.

        the exhaust system looks to be a Jardine Spaghetti system...highly sought after....generally it is understood that a bike will all original parts are more valued than a bike with a mix of parts or a "frankenbike" as you have here...also condition plays a role is values...then again it is worth what someone will pay...however you still have a nice machine...Good luck with it...

          That is the correct grab bar for the '80G as the '79SF has a bend in it

          Pipes are Skettis and rear fender and tail light is stock to the G

            Hi MadMax, I was just curious why the jardine spaghetti exhaust is highly sought after? I have one (like new) that I was thinking about parting with when I put the original exhaust back on the bike.

              well because of its tunability...it is one of a few aftermarket exhausts that really improve the tuning of the engine...plus like all others they arent made anymore...so it ranks up there as one of the most desireable exhaust systems to have...at least that is how i percieve it to be...

                  Spaghetti Exhaust

                  Plus they look really cool on an XS In my opinion the best of the aftermarket exhausts. Many still look great after all these years.
