  • For Sale 1979 XS1100 Special (Best Offer?)

    I'm acquiring a 1979 XS1100 Special. (weird name use)
It's black, not the Midnight model.
I think I'll put it up for sale here since you guys are in LOVE with this machine now, almost as much as I was back then.
    .
I'm looking at it in a bit to get it running.
    .
Close friend of mine says it was running strong few years ago then parked it in his garage since.
Bud says it turns over but no spark. Says there's history of a lose wire in the pickup cover.
Has a couple EZ replaceable, non chassis, surface parts.
He says it's rough, but all there. BIG PLUS!
    .
    Clear TITLE.
    .
I say best offer but I do have a minimum.
(Jim Carry) "SOMEBODY ENTERTAIN MEEeee.... with a best offer."
    .
Call anytime Sat-Sun or AFTER 9 PM CST - ONLY!

BLANK/BLOCKED ID's not answered. (Dang Spammers)

YA, I know. Was at the bike today and simply did not think about it.
There was no time to do anything else but get it running.

GOOD NEWS, it started and ran.
      K&H intake filters.
      4-1 pipes. (Unknown make)
Needs tires. Current ones holding air.
Bud says front brakes need looking at.

Comes with a H-Bar mounted windshield.
Not ugly, but paint could use touch up.
I'll toss in my battery, 2 years old.

      Odometer, 22,100
IF it means anything... I were to buy it,
I'd pay around $0.70 to $0.75 per CC.

I'll stop back now & then for PM offers.

Finally got the bike. (TO LOOOooog of a story).

Will be attempting to post pictures tomorrow.
I put my extra battery in and she fired up. Except for the slightly older gas it ran pretty good.

I have two extra starters to toss in. One was from my 1977 XS11, the other is a 1978 XS11 starter.

The owner of the bike passed away and my bud will rectify this title issue in 6 weeks. A "certificate of death" has to clear first before the title can be dealt with.

SO... you can make me a "No Title" offer or wait and (basically) the bikes price will triple.

"Make me an offer I can't refuse."

this machine now, almost as much as I was back then.
        .
        Tires are almost new.
Starts fine, Seafoam is doing its job. Runs a little rough, I don't have a carb balancer.
I ran the motor till ALMOST out of gas and put in Non-Ethanol gas.
Looks like recent spark plugs. Checked Ohms, all 4 measure around 5.3
        Odometer, 22,100
I'll toss in my battery, 2 years old. and I don't need 2 spare starters. (BONUS PARTS!)
Comes with a clear handlebar mounted batwing windshield.

Comes with a seat similar to this one (see link).
It's old, still looks good, no top side tears I can see.
Underside, one corner torn, almost not noticeable.
The metal pan has rust through, front 1/3. Still usable. EZ to patch.

Copy the URL text below, click on the link above, then after new page opens to the empty Tripod page with the
        following address/url in the address bar: http://www.members.tripod.com/adm/interstitial/remote.jpg ;
then paste below URL into address bar, will still see the Tripod empty page but the address below will be showing,
hit the REFRESH/RELOAD button and it will finally show the seat image..it's a dual bucket design.

Has a clear title but... (always a BUT somewhere)
