  • 79 XS1100 Special and 80 850 triple, Michigan

I have two bikes - free if you come get them.
I live in south west Michigan.

    1. XS1100SF - Last running 3 years ago. This bike needs new rubber, new battery. Brake disk is grooved and probably needs to be replaced. Front fork seal needs to be replaced.

    2. 1980 XS850 triple - This bike needs new rubber, new battery, carb rebuild (broken post in one carb). Bike has a front fairing, but needs pieces for mounting. Last runing over 10 years ago.

Yes sir. I plan-on reviving these bikes a little bit at a time over the Winter. The tires are shot, so those will have to be replaced. The brake system will have to be gone-through. Everything else will have to be gone through. Looks like the side covers will have to be repainted (they've been painted flat-black). Other than that, I think I'll be busy for awhile. Thanks again Tim.

                  Generous, Mr. tweaver

Hey Ian, I was tempted to take a look when the (kind) offer first went out, but I saw you were already on it.

I already have two triples, so I don't have an excuse to have more.

                  Now, how 'bout some pictures?
                  -Mike

Hey Mike- You and me both. I have my 750 & 850 Triples. These two XS bikes are my first Yamaha Specials. I do have two Suzuki GS "L" models that would be the equivalent.

Pics will come before & after the clean-up, and again when I start tearing into them. I'll get rid of the Hitachi carbs, and go with the Mikuni's. Which reminds me, I gotta track-down some Mikuni MKII's for it.
