"The Green Hornet" started out as a $250 parts bike off of ebay.

I would like to get a look at this also. Not that far from me. I wonder if it is a Special or Standard?

hey, was just wondering if anyone checked out this basket case in person yet?
If so, what's it like? I'm not that far away from it either.

Yes, I checked it out. It was a total roach. Lots of parts missing and engine is locked up tight. Been sitting outside along the owners house for a number of years. I suspect water over the years got into the engine and did its deed.

I suspected that was the case, I was hoping it would at least be a good parts bike. Thanks Bob

Well, the owner of this "basket case" contacted me back and we made a deal for $125. Ended up that there was some other parts that went with the bike. Decent tank, sidecovers, two sets of exhaust, fairing and matching hard bags,a chrome rack with back rest and pad, a pair of seats and a few other assorted items. Most of these parts are in need of refinishing and repair, but usable. If there are any of you looking for cheap parts, the exhaust systems, rack with back rest and the seat I would like to sell for $20 each if any one has a use for them. The exhausts are rusty and have previous repairs but could be put back in service. One appears original and the other aftermarket. Fairing and bags can go also, but would be impracticle to ship.
I will try and post some pics when I get time.
