    1980G Full Dresser N Georigia

    Very clean New Ruby Red 1980G, with low (15K) mileage. Excellent condition cosmetically and mechanically. This bike needs only a rider. Have title. Will list all that I have done to it in another post. Discount to xs11.com members. Preparing Craigslist and eBay ads presently. Price is $5900 USD.

      1980G - What has been done.

      I started on this project about a year and a half ago. Bought this bike from PO out of Minnesota. It had not been run in a while. I looked the bike over very carefully and did the following to it:

      Front

      Replaced front tire (Metzler), wheel bearings and seals.
      Rebuilt master cylinder and calipers (SS pistons), and replaced brake hoses.
      Rebuilt forks.

      Engine

      Checked compression - all cylinders perfect.
      Adjusted Valves and replaced VC gasket and cam plugs.
      Rebuilt and synced carbs. Rebuilt petcocks, added fuel filters, replaced all hoses and clamps. Air filter is like new.
      Replaced spark plugs (Iridium)
      New oil and filter (20w-50 Valvoline m/c oil)
      Checked timing and verified vacuum and centrifugal advance.

      Electrical

      Battery is good and dated 2012.
      Upgraded battery grounds. Installed quick connect for "Battery Tender".
      Installed flashing brake light unit.
      Repaired break to pick-up coil wiring.
      Checked all other electrical functions. All are good. T/sig self cancelling also works.
      Upgraded fuse box to new blade style.

      Middle/Rear
      Replaced oil in middle and rear drives. Transmission shifts perfectly.
      Replaced rear tire (Metzler) and inspected wheel bearings.
      Rebuilt master cylinder and caliper (SS piston) and replaced brake hose.

      I have ridden the bike so far only once for 37 miles (Sun June, 7) since all of this has been done. I feel like I may have left some things out that were also done? I will post them as I remember. This is the cleanest, nicest, most unmolested bike that I have gone through so far. The next owner will be proud to have and show this one.

        Much obliged John. Thanks! These pictures were taken during extremely overcast conditions and don't do this nice New Ruby Red paint justice. Will get some "sunny" ones up ASAP.

            Thanks Ian,

            I hate to have to ask so much for one of these, but I really know that this one has all the "right stuff". I did discount it some since it has aftermarket exhaust. If it doesn't sell, I will cover it up, pull up a chair, have a cold one, and "listen to it rust". LOL

                        The New Ruby Red is my favorite color on the XS11 ...
