  • 79 XS11 - Time to say goodbye

Some of you might remember this post:
    http://www.xs11.com/forum/showpost.p...32&postcount=1

Well the time has come to part with the bike. Letting her go will break my heart, but less so than watching her sit and continue to deteriorate. Might simply be a parts bike at this point. Let me know if it is worth anything to someone. Otherwise, I guess I will just find someplace local to part it out.

You can respond back to my email directly at peckm3@yahoo.com.

    Thank you,

So, is there a different wording we should use if interested in the bike?

I know, right? Hey, give me some credit for acknowledging the original thread, at least. Never say never, I guess.

I just never would have imagined four years gone-by without a blessed thing happening to her, except father-time taking additional toll.

      Sigh.

The guilt is killing me. But I finally came to the realization that giving her up in the hope that someone with more knowledge, skill and resources can get some use out of her--that guilt is better that the guilt of watching her slowly turn to dust.

Do what you gotta do. You will definitely find a buyer for that bike. Worse-case, part it out. You'll fetch a decent sum for the exhaust alone.

We all grow and change with growth . It seems you have come to grips with reality and are to be commended . I admire you Sir (or person) . Seems you are not looking for a payday as much as to send a treasure forward. Regards from Texas.

Don't let it go to parts...it's way nicer than what I started with.

Good luck. It looks decent. Pipes are nice. Don't worry someone can make a nice project out of that. We don't hold anything against you. Its hard to say goodbye.

Not sure what it is worth.

                  Make an offer.

Might be a good idea to put a number on it that you can live with.

this bike would be a great retoration...the missing side covers will be hard to track down as other years do not fit...but not impossible...someone I know needs another project... The rest of it looks fairly straightforward...

That is part of the problem, I really don't know what is fair, and I don't want to get flamed for asking too much.

                          $800?

a general rule is that non running XSs' go for about $500...but as the overall value of theses bikes goes up...I would expect someone to pay a little more than that but not a whole lot more...
