I extremely dislike when a person with somewhat of an eye for modifying beat the Hell out of the fuel tank 'cause they didn't use the proper bars or risers.
1980 XS1100G "Dolly G" Full Dresser (with a coat of many colors )
      1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
      1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
      1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
      1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.

        tank

Schming, I saw this bike up for sale once before and at the time the seller explained that he had put the indents in the tank so the bars would work. I think I would have used a set of risers or different bars personally and saved ruining a good tank

I believe it's wearing an XS650 front fender.

I think it might look better with less seat on it or add fender.

The reality is, he might get $1000 because it's just a stock Special with a few cosmetic changes. Many of those changes are poorly executed, IMHO. Just the same, the bike might be a decent buy.

No improvements have been made to make it a cafe racer, unless you wish to consider removal of the airbox and rear fender and addition of the Emgo fairing. It still has stock 35 year old shocks and it wouldn't surprise me if it has 35 year old fork oil in the unimproved forks. To me, it's a pig. It may well be worth saving. As is, it's unimproved and fugly. My 2 cents.
