    19871 Venturer

I could not stand it any longer, so I jumped on this 1981 Venturer. It appears to be all original, good paint, and low miles. Found it on Craigslist in MN. I have paid for it, but will not have it my possession until next week. I got it for a little less than the "asking" price. The guy is the second owner. It belonged originally to a guy that was/is a Yamaha dealer up there.

Appears to be a really good example.

Yes, I needed it like I need another hole in my head!

PS: Sorry for the typo: 1981 Venturer, not 19871.

well I never have the money together and find a Venturer I could buy... I had been looking for years...My timing has always sucked...always...but I am happy you got it. So we know of another fine example of an XS1100 that will be cherished and maintained and preserved as it should be...

OK Ben, when it is time to let this one loose, I will give you first refusal. How's that?

Have not decided what I am going to do with it yet. I will likely ride it some. I may just clean it up, put a cover on it, and hide it for a while. Won't add or subtract anything from this one. Plan to keep it 100% original.

I will start out making sure everything is working properly. Then (if needed) I do whatever to make it ready to ride. I always find something to clean, paint, rebuild, adjust, or polish.

Yes, if any of them are around then, they will undoubdtedly be worth millions. Have you healed up properly and are you ready for the Great Smoky Mountains next month?

Yeah hey Mike! Ol' Okie and I are great. Not that bad of a crash, just a poor landing

We'll be there with bells on. Bringing a couple first timers to the rally. They are experienced, just never been there.

Nice!..........right down to the STILL yellow plastic sheathing on the chained lock assembly:
Only change I see is the optional LOWER slide-in backrest from Yammy accessories of the day. The Venturer's all came with the taller, slighty tapered backrest with the zipper pouch on the back.
Have the lower one installed on mine, since it fit into the trunk recess nicely. Still have the original taller one.
