  • 1979 xs1100 Special. Resto/modernized

    For sale 1979 XS1100 Special.

Purchased the bike from the second owner with 26k. Did a complete custom repaint, New emblems, straighter black bars. Borrowed some pieces from the mid night special. Polished the frame, pipes, ect.. modern yet still period correct turn signals. New fork seals, headset bearings and cups, front wheel bearings, pads all around, stainless braided front lines. New fluid in trans and rear end. New seat cover, little wrinkly in the back, needs stretched.

Completely rebuilt carbs with correct jetting for setup, hours of tuning for it to run correctly. Velocity stacks to even air flow. Adjusted cam chain. Compression is 165-170 on all cylinders.

Parts that come with, stock air box, rack/rear seat back, vetting fairing if you want it.

This bike is beautiful, had months to get looking great and running great. Real head Turner with a custom mixed bright blue metallic paint.

    $3k in Des Moines, Ia

Selling because of costly car repairs. I really don't want to let it go, had a ton of fun with this bike. Needs nothing except to get on and ride.

I'm surprised this hasn't sold! Especially after seeing what is generally available. Wish it was closer to me...

Literally zero offers since its been up. I know most people into old bikes want to restore them and have fun making it theirs. Plus riding season is coming to a close.

yeah with the exception of a select few on this site... most people are into getting these bikes as cheap as they can...not that theres anything wrong with that...but it makes selling a nice bike at even your reduced price not an easy sell...I think its worth it ...I'm a turnkey person...I am not a person who wants a project... I'd stick it on CL...GLWS
