    1978E in CA (Ebay)

    Here's a "barn find" E model ... nearly 20K miles ...

    Listing says it's been sitting for at least 15 yrs.

    A No Reserve auction ... starting bid is $899.00 ... for those of you who are adept at bringing these beauties back to life, this could be a good find ... ???

    Or is it overpriced for the amount of work it will need?

    Not sure I'd pay that much, but it is nice. If it had original exhaust, you betcha. Looks to be Kerker exhaust. It should clean-up well.

      I would really have to want a '78E. Which I do. $900 is a bit steep seeing as there's no way to know how much needs to be done. Could be a carb clean and an oil change. Could be new pistons, rings, and crank bearing

      79 F - gas tank refurb, headgasket change, straight pipes, late model carbs, virago lowering shocks, special headlight and gauges, TC fuse block, GSXR-1100 carbs (WIP)

              Well, guys, the seller has relisted this E ...

              Same as before, with one exception ... starting price for the No Reserve auction is now $749.00 instead of $899.00 ...

              An improvement, but still risky, considering the unknown quantity of work it will need ...

                  Externally it looks pretty good but internally it will have to be redonre completely...$500 is about right for a non runner...

                      someone has made the first bid...no reserve so its already sold...unless you want to bid it up...not worth it ...especially on Ebay...you have to stick to what you feel you can pay...you do not want to get sucked into a bidding war...at least not on this one...
