  • 1979 XS1100 Special "TimeCapsule" Pre-sale

Bought a couple XS11's this past weekend and one of them was this beautiful example of a 1 owner original. This thing looks the way it did in 1979. Kept in a heated office space for the last 15 years and ridden regularly before that. Has a few electrical issues I am sorting out and then I plan on riding it until I get the Standard I bought in slightly worse shape up and running. Once I have the standard I am going to sell this Special as its not really my style but I just couldn't live with myself if I changed it. PM me and we can talk about timeline and price. I am not looking to make a fortune off this, I just want a fair price and ensure it goes to someone who isn't looking to bob/cafe/chop/or rat it out.

    Few details:

    Just under 30k miles
    Fork Rebuild
New Brakes, flushed and Bled Lines (I would sell a standard front end and brake system with the bike if someone wanted to swap)
    New oil (crank and final)
    New plugs and wires

    Needs
    New rear forks (possibly)
New tires as these are perfectly preserved but 15 years old (no dry rot and almost brand new)

Hope that came across the way I wanted and it doesn't just sound like I am here to push a sale

You guys up there in then Central Northern states always find the best deals!

Great looking ride. Who knows... while you're riding it while fixing up the standard, you may grow to enjoy it too much to sell it.
I've got one each and they definitely ride differently. I use the standard for the highway commutes and the special for the twisties.

Just absolutely beautiful!!!! This is a bike I could never stop looking at and admire, however, I just cannot see myself riding with a fairing. I can't even bring myself to put a windshield on it.
