  • Pricing for a pristine '79 Special?

    Friends,

After 7 years of ownership and countless enjoyable miles, I've decided to sell my '79 Special. But I have no idea where to price it?

    Here are the basics:
    34,000 miles
Stock exhaust with NO RUST whatsoever
    Never been dropped
    Engine guard & highway pegs
    Runs perfect, absolutely perfect
    Driveshaft/final drive mod: http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11703
stepped, highback seat & sissybar for a true vintage look

I'll include a ton of pics, of course, one I do post it for sale. Just wondering where y'all thought I should set the price/reserve.

BTW, There WILL be incentives for XS11 members to buy this bike. For starters, I'll be offering it up to y'all before it goes to the auction block. And once it does go public, I'll likely offer a discount for XS11 members (maybe even an extra point or two for those who've posted on the forums).

Thanks for all the good times, good advice, and the great community.

    Mine is way, WAY nicer.

Here are two pics I found on my phone. They don't really do it justice, since I was just snapping a picture of the 'new' seat I had just put on. But at least you get some insight into how well I treated her:
