Why waste your time with a BobberLeave a comment:

I'm pretty sure I'd fall off the back of that thing and get sucked into the rear tire...don't know if this'll post-- but since there's discussion on bobber bashin'

Mark -Well, you guys are in for a treat. I'm not much on cafe's, but our German exchange student now lives in Belgium, and while he was living in Texas, he built this. It is one of the absolute coolest cafe's I've seen. I may be a convert. Enjoy, and any comments are encouraged. This guy is pretty much a perfectionist.

Very nice Guzzi cafe - really sharp! And it even has the pillion pad ...

Enjoyed the write-up, too!Leave a comment:

Marty-- That 1000S Guzzi is so cool looking. I am thinking a cafe conversion for your bike would be awesome. Maybe my old age is changing my opinion on the look. I'll bet the conversion would make that thing handle great, too. I know Helge would offer any help through e-mail if you want to contact him. He's been through the process.Leave a comment:

I don't get bobbers
So.... what did he do, weld the swingarm in place? Also, the seat and missing fender looks dangerous considering there is no suspension. One good bump and you could be riding the tire. I don't even want to think about what might happen to more delicate parts of the anatomy.Leave a comment:

Totally 100% agree...and thats a stunning motorcycle! Like Marty said...I too like cafe' bikes just not made from XS/XJ1100s'I think one of the biggest hurdles to overcome when attempting to make a cafe or bobber from an XS Eleven is the engine -
IMHO, the sheer physical size of the engine does not lend itself well to a cafe or bobber - trying to get a balanced look seems difficult.
BUT, as others in this thread have shown with their photos, it can be done ... and done well!
Though it does seem to be the exception rather than the norm.
And speaking of something done well, how about this:
