    79/80 special for sale in Hampton Roads

    I stumbled across this CL ad:

    If I'm not mistaken, its from a member on this site.
    I haven't talked to him since October, but I do know that he has quite a few other projects to work on, thus, that may be the reason for him letting this one go. (I think it's PO may have also been on this site too)

    It's listed as an 80, but I think it may be a 79 special due to the rear fender/tail light and non slotted front rotor. Although the foot pegs and rear rotor are from an 80.

    Anyway, It's a nice looking bike and has some good upgrades/modifications.

    Well theres no shaft for the kickstart so it has to be 1980...and a sweet one at that...

      I guess there really is no other more attractive way to route that hydraulic clutch line.

        Aren't all XS' cable clutch? Is that an aftermarket setup? Definitely stands out a bit lol

            Yes, he mentions the upgrade to hydraulic clutch in the ad. It probably is an 80, that is not the stock seat, as he mentions int he ad, and it would not work with the stock fender and grab rail. The ad mentions he has the stock fenders.

            Also, if you look at the rear wheel, it is not red like the front, it appears to perhaps be from a MNS.

              Aah gotcha. Yeah did a search guess I shoulda done that first lol I was just thinking I wonder if there'd be a way to design a new cover maybe cnc a cover plate that would adapt the hydraulics into it or allow the unit to bolt on at least. Might have to talk to my cnc buddy about it, hydraulic clutch would be nice for my project but I definitely don't want it looking like that! haha

                Hak- If you read the mod on "hydraulic clutches" it'll give you a good reference. There was not enough selling points for me to convert.
