It is not my style and I don't particularly like it, but I will say that it does look well done and does actually look pretty good for what it is....now.

In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.
I don't mind bobbers if done well. However, having started riding on a hard tail Harley 45 I can't imagine wanting to ride a hard tail for any length of time. Someone (DennyZ or maybe Tkat) once said "There is nothing sacred about metal" and I tend to agree.
Having said that I would not do a bobber myself nor would I own one. The reason to have a bike is to ride it, not look at it. The price this guy is, IMHO, way out of line. Older bikes are worth more if they are in stock or near-stock condition, not chopped up and heavily modified. I prefer mods that improve on the original, such as stainless steel brake lines, more comfortable seats, fork brace, windshield, and other items that enhance the mechanical features of the bike or, in my case, make it more comfortable for longer-distance riding.
But...beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I would rather have seen this XJ kept stock and pristine, but I have seen some nicely done mods that expand the horizon of what can (not necessarily should) be done if you have the imagination and skills to do it right. If you don't experiment you will never know what is possible.

Hipsters on bobbers in skinny jeans and bandanas are about as scary as kids in Halloween costumes. You could push that guy over with a well directed sneeze.
