It doesn't appeal to me. Throw away most of the parts and jack up the price.

Least its kept the rear suspension that'll be needed for that skateboard seat.

I hope he lives in an area where they only get .5" of rain a year. I'd hate to have to drive it through a FL rainstorm.
Oh, yeah, he's in drought riddled CA so I guess he doesn't have to worry too much about that.

I really dislike cafe's without the cowl in the back. It looks like they cheaped out without it. I like the color though. If I were to re-paint the bike, that's the color I'd go for. GM's sunburst metallic. Aussie11G has Ford Focus Orange on his from Europe (He is the 107 hp Dyno bike).

                Seriously

It is not my style either, but to each his own. I can't figure out how he came up with price. My guess would be that the parts and paint may have been a $1000 tops, maybe it was a labor intensive job? I am certain though that riding on that seat for a couple of hours is worth the cost of admission.

The style looks different on a small motorcycle, at least to my eye. Apply it to the XS11 and I think it misses the mark. Google images for "brat style motorcycle" and see what I mean.

I agree. It's examples like these that make me want to go a different route for my XS. The proportions most always just seem a little off. I think maybe if the wheel's were a little larger it would keep the proportions a tad better. It looks super clean and well done, just something a bit off with it. (Besides the price tag) I keep trying to find pictures of an XS in similar styling with the pedal's relocated further back, I think that would help the ergo's some. Definitely looks a bit awkward for more than a spin around the block

If you take an XS1100 standard, like the one pictured, and modify it slightly, it's hard to miss. Rearsets are available for this bike. You can put a small cafe fairing on it with lower bars. How about a round headlight and round signal lights? Maybe an Acewell instrument. A shorter front fender. The remaining bodywork stays.

                        This one belongs to YAMAHANSOLO.

The Special is more of a challenge to work with, because the factory already customized it. The drooping side covers make it tough to replace the seat. If you're going wild with it, you pretty much have to strip it and start over. There is a bolt on cafe seat available for the '80 and '81. It ships from Vietnam.

Nice that looks pretty good! I had found the rearsets available I just can't find a picture of anyone riding with them! haha. That's good to know that looks like a pretty nice seat, too! I think I'd get it re covered but it has a nice shape to it would be good to start with a decent seat.

www.motorcycleseatsdirect.com You may have the seat any way you want it, but shipping is $90 from Vietnam. Google search them to find out what their customers have said. The business was formerly Hondaclassics31. Google that as well.
