Bid closed at $577.99 for what looks to be a complete bike in supposed running condition. A bargain for who ever won it. I hope they show up here.
Rare you say! Still lots of them about

This auction was a dealer selling the bike for the owner. Dealer said that the owner had to have $1800 for it.
Could be a good price depending on what shape the mechanicals are in - mileage was not shown for some reason. Then there is the travel/shipping distance that has to be factored in.
To ship it would likely cost $400+ for any distance of 300-500 miles. If it could be had for around $1300-$1400, might be a good deal.

Hi Mike,
I agree it is probably worth $1800 if it really is in the condition stated. Problem for the seller is he has to find someone in his town willing to spend that much because as you say pick up or shipping any distance will add to buyers cost.

I keep looking at that ebay pic and realize how amazingly beautiful the Venturer really is. I think I could get away with riding that at my age.
Yes, Ian. You're the guy we need to encourage to stay. We need you and people your age at our rallies. Otherwise, the bikes die with their generation of riders.

you'd think this would be a good time to sell a bike even though the riding season is done for most folks. But to get top dollar the seller of this bike prolly would have better luck in the Spring...Thats a nice Venturer and his buy it now price is close to being realistic...I'd hold out for more if i was the seller.
I have given up on finding a venturer now that i have swampthing but dang... the '81 Hs' just keep popping up forsale...
