Stripped down to frame. Have the engine and all the parts.
About five years ago I set out to restore my grandpa's bike (the '80 bagger). I hoped to make it look like the pictures I saw of so many members' bikes; brought back to their original glory. Unfortunately the realities of day to day life set in and I've failed to meet the standard I set back then. I've had neither the money nor the time necessary to do what I wanted to so I want to give someone else that chance. I'd much rather sell these bikes to someone from this forum that will finish what I started than to some young kid that's going to beat the living hell out of them. I'm not looking to get rich, but I'm not giving them away either. Make me an honest offer and they are yours.
I bought the '79 Special when I realized my grandpa's bike was going to need the bottom end of the motor rebuilt - for starters anyway - and started fixing it up. The previous owner had made some less than adequate repairs. I fixed the wiring issues, borrowed the regulator/rectifier and master cylinder from my grandpa's bike, rebuilt the carbs and petcocks, and many other little fixes (new front tire, front and rear brakes, engine and drive oil, etc). The '79 is what I ride now. I enjoy it but it's time to move on.
