  • Craigslist find. 79 XS11 bobber

    http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/mcy/3830872802.html

"Xs1100 bobber new tires and k and n air filters less than 30 miles ago brand new tires mounted Friday have receipts 24 k original miles serious offers only or trade for firearms or 4wheeler"

    He's asking $3200...
Not only is the asking price unreasonably high, but he has the poor man's hardtail.

I know what I like and it’s relevancy to the outside world or history is actually pretty minimal.

Yep, may not be a member here, but a shining example of why folks get a bit grumbly when someone joins the site and start asking about hard tailing and modding the bike up. As I have said before, there are some who have finished the project and made nice bike, many cudos to them. There are five to ten that end up like this for every one that gets finished.

Sad thing is, this guy will probably get mad that no one values his mess the way he does, and scrap it rather than "give it away" for some rediculously low price like anything under $1500.

Hard to tell from that pic but did he really just replace the shocks with a solid piece of pipe, put on a springer seat and call it a bobber?

Pipe or bar stock, but it also looks like the frame has been cut to go with it. No fenders. Hard to say for sure what else based on that one fuzzy pic.
