          6K?? Really?

That price is so high it's obnoxious. He probably doesn't want to sell it, really, but his wife put him up to it . . . .

There is someone out in that area of the country that had/has six bikes that are stated to be Bob Jones maintained and such. Every year he tries to sell them for some really high prices.

I figure if he can sell them for those prices, good for him, and maybe good for me on the price of mine. I just know he will not be selling to me for those prices.

I spoke to that guy (in KC) yesterday who has 6 bikes for sale at this time (on 1 ad he lists a 81 Venturer). On the ad with three bikes listed he has 81 MNS with the Pacifico fairing, but un-original 4-N2-1 black headers and he quoted me $3800 for that one bike. He says his bike are NOT SHOWBIKES, but have been lovingly maintained by Bob Jones, but IMHO he's about 15% tp 20% too high on his prices, BUT that's commenting without actually seeing some good quality pics.

This has been discussed before I know, IMHO, Bob Jones maintained the bikes perhaps, did not build them. And Bob has been gone more than a year or two, so, hopefully someone else has maintained them since, which negates Bob having done so in the past. So the whole Bob Jones part of the ad is window dressing at best.

With that being the case, and they are no showroom quality machines by the owners statement, I would suggest anything over 2k would be overpriced. That price would require the bikes be 100% operable and only some polishing needed to be showroom, again, JMO.

I too spoke to him a few yrs ago abt the Venturer and while he claims Bob Jones maintained them...when I got interested and wanted to fly in and ride home ..He told me the bikes were in storage and IMO prolly have been for quite some time...therefore not road ready at all...he quoted me $2500 for the Venturer. His ad was misleading as you were led to believe the bikes were being maintained when in fact they're not. But this bike in this thread doesnt appear to be from the same seller.

It's just a matter of taste, but I wouldnt give 1500 for that bike in mint shape. "It's not my style" is the nicest thing I can say about it.

I like it, but for the price.....he can keep it..Although,I'm told that a 1200 kit is very expensive when all is done.
