It is sweet. I think it's a bit overpriced, but if any bike it worth well over NADA it looks like it would be one, as everything I can see in the pictures looks concours quality. I'm not sure I buy his appreciating in value bit, at least not yet, but I do think we are at the tipping point.

Then again, even here this is hitting what's the end of the riding season for most folks, and people aren't going out looking for bikes now, so this is the low time of year price wise, so not a good time to be selling if one wants top price. I would think that he would do better to wait till next spring, he would have a MUCH better chance of getting what he's asking for, assuming things come out of the toilet in Ca by then (they sure haven't yet, then again maybe that's really why he's selling ).

I don't know. I think that radar dome in the one shot is the one over on Mather field. So I think the shots were taken over on/by Mather field. Not quite sure, but based on the seller posting about the forum, he may well be a member here, if not an active one. I'll tell you, I wish I had 3500 extra burning a hole in my pocket, I'd be over talking to him (I'd still be trying to talk him down based on what other bikes and NADA values are though, and I'd have a printout of the NADA numbers with me too ). But that's where I think it is. As a matter of fact, I think I've stopped in that parking lot a couple of times when I lived in Rancho Cordova for a while.

Mather Field

I was wondering about that too but I haven't been out that way for quite a while. Used to get out in that area but didn't know how grown over with houses it was. If a developer finds out about that they will hurry up and build a strip mall to keep the area from looking too natural..

I was living out there just a couple years ago, and I still ride out that way every so often. There are some good places for "dirty landbargein" which for those not familiar with the term involves taking big heavy street machines out onto dirt roads that were not intended for those type of machines.

It's getting to be a bit of a contest to be able to tell the best tale of going somewhere the bike was never intended to go (I mean REALLY not intended to go) and doing so successfully, and your being hairier than anybody else's and yes, pictures/photographic evidence IS required to back up the tales.

There is even some talk on some boards of getting together a dirty landbargein ride. To qualify the bike typically must be 600+ lbs cruiser or touring machine, dual sports need not apply no matter their weight.

A full dress XS11 can be an interesting ride when you get into the dirt and gravel. You gotta really know the balance and handling of your machine, and you REALLY gotta know it's power characteristics, or you can end up with the rear wheel buried up to the frame in the dirt really fast .
