    I'd jump all over that 81 if it were anywhere near me. That is a nice looking bike for that money. Well, I would want to check if the engine will turn over and see what a nest of wire is under the seat and tank.

      Don, I'm of the same mind with that '81 special. Doesn't look too shabby in the pics and if the motor turns and has good compression...!!!
      Hell, if he throws in the trailer I may consider it.

        Looks as if we'll be going fo that SH!!
        Showed it to my oldest son (20) and he liked the idea. Called the owner and got the scoop, he's had it since 1995 and rode it regularly, and didn't remember any tranny probems.
        He's bringing it over on Friday for me to evaluate it.
        I'll keep you folks posted.

          If he will throw in the trailer, I might just ride on down and get it!!! Oh, yeah, then I'd have a trailer to find a place to store as well as another XS....man..that dog house sure seems comfy!!

                Yeah, I saw potential in that special too. We'll see if Irene is will allow for it tomorrow Friday, if not maybe Saturday.
