  • Vintage 1980 Yamaha XS 1100 Special Motorcycle XS1100

I have a vintage 1980 Yamaha XS 1100 Motorcycle for sale. Overall in great shape never dropped. I am the second owner. It has 19K original miles on it. Its recent has a recent tune up. New battery, Engine, Tranmission and gearbox oil Spark plugs, New K&N filter. It has a custom Exhaust and bike looks good cosmetically. It needs a carb tuneup and brakes bled. It is a beautiful looking bike and I have gotten alot of compliments on this bike. It has not been registered sence 1994 so It has dropped of the DMV. Bill of Sale only. I can arrange for viewing and inspection. I can also arrange worldwide shipping of the bike. I am located in the East Bay. Please give me a call at 925-305-1100 if interested.

That's going to be a real problem cause DMV is going to require a bond and only issue a non-transferable salvage title if you don't have the title for the bike, and it will take some time to get it registered as well. Believe me, I know, I have gone through the process, and that wasn't even with a bike that I bought, it was with my own bike that had dropped out of the system and the paperwork was lost. I'm still fighting with DMV over it over 2 years later, and I'm about to break it up and part it out because of it, it's that difficult, cause they don't take a bill of sale. I wish you luck, but unfortunately, at this point, it's probably nothing more than a parts bike with the amount of work an pain and time and MONEY that it would take to MAYBE be able to EVER register it again (I'm still looking for the paperwork for mine, cause if I find it I would actually be able to register it finally, cause I know I actually saw the title in a box somewhere about 3 years ago, but can't find it now and without it, so far, no go with getting it registered again, even though I am the owner and have been for 24 years (and in Ca too))

It can be done in Ca, but as much work as it takes, they need to be practically free to be worth it. It can literally take a couple years to get one registered, and you may NEVER be able to transfer it to someone else without just as much hassle. (they give you what's called a yellow title, which means it's not a clear title, meaning ownership is not considered 100% known). And even coming from out of state, even if the other state doesn't title that type of vehicle, it's just as bad.
