Those are the stock wheels for an 81 MNS, they got the swirly wheels like that would be standard for the XJs.

Yeah, it is the power of Ebay. That POS K-mart radio with a cassette player you tore out of your car threw away last week is now a rare antiquity with custom hand carved decorations (we call them nicks and scratches round these parts though).

It is a very nice bike, but museum quality is a stretch, really with 17,000 miles or so was it really always stored in a climate controlled environment? Seems like it got out for a few treks around the neighborhood, probably even saw the sun or possible some rain at some point.

Exactly. Not a bad looking bike. But exaggerated by the seller. Price isn't way outrageous but its a bit high.

"But exaggerated by the seller" is an understatment with the BS production numbers and such. And as DGXSER stated, Buyer beware!.

Yes WE know its BS but every newbie that buys a MNS comes on the board and guaranteed pretty soon they ask "is it true there was only 250 made each year?" It is a pretty prevalent myth. Heck, should be glad the bike actually IS a MNS and not just marketed as one to drum up money.

It's way high IMO. If you look carefully, you can see chips/flaws in the engine sidecover finish (multiple places), paint is peeling off the carbs, and you can see scratches in the tank paint. This looks like something found in somebodys garage (or more likely, a storage place), and with a fast polish and some selective 'spray paint' rebuilding it's now 'collector value'?

                  I don't think so....

He didn't get any bids, so it'll be interesting to see if it shows up at a lower price.

Yea, the give-away for me when first brought up here even prior to reading the BS he was spewing was the pics were kept at a distance and angles that try to hide things.......good to see his bad karma made full circle. Think maybe those that may have been otherwise interested are a bit wiser or just broke?.......JAT.
