  • XS11E/F in central IL

A buddy of mine has a XS1100 Full dresser for sale. Has been sitting in garage for several years. He got it in a estate settlement. Has both out side spark plugs out of it. A lot of surface rust. Has MAC emblem on muffler. Everthing is there including both side covers, trunk, and hard bags. Went to take pictures and my camera is broke. I looked at serial number it was 2H7 but forgot to get number so do not know if it is a 78 or 79 standard. It was a dark blue in color so I think it is a 79. Paint is rough on it. I believe it has a Yamaha fairing on it complete with radio. He has NO idea what he can get out of it. I told him it was not worth very much with the plugs out of it. Shoot me some prices so I can give him a idea of what he can get for it. Need any more information let me know.
    Thanks Tom

By plugs out of it, do you mean he has them pulled or the holes are stripped out in the head? Either way alot of stuff including moisture got into those cylinders causing rust. Does the engine turn over?

Gotta ask. What possessed him to remove the plugs and let it sit?

        plugs

He got it in a estate settlement. Someone (PO) took plugs out for SOME reason. Plugs look like they were taken out , hole was all corroded up. Do not know if motor will turn over or not, will take kick stater over and see if it will turn over.
        Thanks Tom

Alot depends on if motor will turn over, and condition of exhaust and other parts. Pictures would be VERY helpful. I'm still kind of looking for a project and have thought about a Standard for a while.

            Hi Tom,
If the plug threads are stripped out, $250.
If the engine is frozen up, $500.
If the engine turns over, $750.
If it will start, run and not jump out of 2nd gear, $1,000.
