  • 80 Special Needs Much Work

Here's the deal I've got an 80 Special that has been sitting probably for probably 15 years, I've finally come to the conclusion that I'm just not ever going to get around to doing anything with it. So it's free to whoever wants to come and get it. It's mostly there needs a seat and maybe a few other things. Not sure of the mileage don't have any pics. I'd prefer somebody that will at least attempt to bring it back takes it, but if it turns out to far gone just don't tell if you have to part it out.

In the www.venturers.org forum I'm a member of we've done a few bike relay's. we once relayed a Yamaha Venture from Texas to Nova Scotia. The way it worked is people volunteered to move it 1 to 2 hundred miles in trailer or truck and would generally meet someone else for lunch or dinner occasionaly 5 to 10 people show up to do the transfer. Sometimes 2 or 3 guys get together and make the trip to pass it off to the next person. It's not fast but it gets there.

We've done several bikes this way and a motorcycle trailer once (a small one towed behind a bike). That was a combination of bikes towing it and pick up rides.

Just a thought, I could probably get it to someone within a hundred miles or so of me.

That would be a sweet deal. I'd love to bring it home and make it whole again. But that kind of a road trip to bring home a non running bike ( or even a runner) would leed to me needing a new home!!

Somehow I knew if it started on a path to Cincinnati, it would never finish before finding a home!!!

                            Hey Max:

                            Sure Thing.
It will It will be a slow process tho. Currently in the process of getting my welder connected as I will be needing it for this project.

So far all I have really done was to spray it down with PB Blaster. The bike spent some time outside so patience and PB blaster is my current strategy.

I started this post it has some pictures I will be posting more.

I'm kinda stoked since it is missing a few parts and others are rusted beyond repair it will give me an excuse to be creative or steal a few Ideas.

PS. riding weather still good so; I also want to take advantage.
