Nice bike! FWIW, $2500 is high, despite the work, and it leaks oil. Please, no offense, it's just there are other bikes in as good or better original shape selling for less. Take a look at the thread directly below yours, for a Special in great shape, $1700.
I'd make it so someone can make an honest offer, to say "please don't low ball me" will possibly keep folks who might be interested from making a reasonable offer.

My $.02, and good luck!
Thanks for the response, I figured it might be a little high so I think I will come down a little on it. Thanks a bunch for your response, much appreciated.

HI, the other responses are pretty dead on. Since I live in the area, I would guess a value of between 1000 to 1400 is about right. Since the bike is not stock, paint is not original, etc...higher mileage, and its the end of the warm season, the value is lower. However, the market will soon tell, if you get the price you're asking then good for you, but if no one is banging on the door to see it then its time to deal. Just my opinion, but there are lots of good running bikes in the 1000 plus range, even though the members here know the xs1100 is a special kind of bike. Maybe hang onto the bike since that amount really isnt a lot to buy down much on a car. The work you put into it is priceless knowledge and experience. Good luck, Mike in Sun Diego
