  • 1980 Midnight Special Sale/Trade

Hey everyone, I got a 1980 Midnight Special recently. This bike does run pretty well, I put about 50 miles on it yesterday. It has a new Interstate battery, and I replaced the carb holder manifolds about a week ago. The tires are in great condition, I believe they have less than 200-300 miles on them. Everything is stock on this bike, except the seat cover was replaced by the previous owner. There are a couple problems with it: cosmetically there are a couple smaller dents in the tank, and scrapes on the tach and headlight; mechanically: it doesn't want to idle unless the choke is half way on. It might be that the carbs need to be cleaned. This bike has about 32k miles and I have a clear title.

I really like the bike, but I want something I can modify into a cafe racer. I wouldn't feel right tearing this bike down, so I want to give you guys a chance to take it off my hands. I would really like to find someone who wants to trade their XS1100 Standard that is in really good running condition. Or maybe a trade plus cash if it has some minor problems. And of course if anyone really wants this bike without a trade, just send me an offer!

Somebody buy this before it gets bobbed and parted. Way too nice looking of a bike. I saw the parts on ebay and he said he was looking to sell it or trade for a standard to alter....
        No takers?

          Sell it on Ebay

Hey Midnite,,,,If it was me I would try to sell it on Ebay and Craigslist,,,a nationwide audience and the midnites have been selling rather well. That way you get the money and can shop around for a clean standard to build your way. Either way,,,,good luck. Mike in Sun Diego
