Every time I see a bike on craigs list advertised as not running, I shoot them an email saying I like to restore bikes and my standard offer is $100 if it has a legitimate title, if not then $50.

Surprisingly, I have gotten quite a few replies, not all nice.

I beg to differ..if it was running then perhaps it would be a good deal...however one can find better examples running for equivalent or even less money...at best I'd offer $500 YMMV

Yeah... I think that one's a bit of a pipedream... It needs a lot of work and a lot more TLC... I don't think I would even go $500...
I'm always leary of the non-runners...

If you liek that price, I have an even better bike I will happily sell you, it is a runner that needs nothing but a side cover and maybe exhaust if you do not like it loud. I'll let it go for a measly $3k!!!

Having been through this project bike that was a non runner and "Just needs carbs and tank cleaned". Ha...Ha Ha ha......I laugh out of wanting not to cry or kill. Kind of goes along with the "no title" bike because they can't find it and do not want to bother getting a new one. But they do not want to price it according to the effort you need to put into getting one because they will not, it is astounding to me.

considering I paid $200 less for Thunderstruck than this bike and she mostly just needed the gears repaired and I could have rode her home, that is insane. IMHO

I think maybe that 1 in front of the $200 was a typo.
That is about what it is worth to me.Although I would like to get a hold of that fairing.lol

You know what I find surprising/amazing, is that it is MUCH cheaper to put a fairing on an XS11 than it is to put the stock headlight assembly together! And that is with a local XSive giving me a GREAT deal on a stock headlight and signals, but you still need the ears, and the fork cover, and such.
