Very nice, but is it stock? I thought all 81 models had the rail that went around the back of the seat. I alos thought only the special models had the slotted rotors. I know my 81 has the "yellow" rear turn signal lenses. Also has the special headlight and front turn signals, but standard forks. Never seen a venturer in person, maybe it was jsut that much of a mix and match? Then again, they came stock with the fairing right? so someone had ot find a headlight to put on if they pulled the factory fairing.
Anyway, not a bad price. But I have learned that "Carbs just cleaned" is a very subjective term!!

I've been talking to the guy and he swears this bike is good to go and ready for anything. I'm trying to jump on this but most likely someone closer to him is gonna get it...as for the carbs...subjective or not I could deal with it...as for the fairing and bags he took them off and has 'em as the ad states. The only thing that is holding me back is although I have the money...I dont have employment...that is a possibility but I prolly wont have a definitive answer 'til next week. Same here. I saw that ad last night, and almost wept... That's a very nice bike, and would only take a little work to bring it back to stock condition. Plus the fact that it's so close to me! I'm still trying to figure out why he moved the rear signals FORWARD. Most people move them back...

Stock Venturer
Hey Ken,
On the picture of the Venturer that you have posted, are the fairing and bags painted black. Just curious as they look darker than the blue on the bike. Thanks, PaulComment

Looks like the only non stock stuff is the turn signals and headlight that were part fo the touring set up that was removed. Both of those bikes look VERY nice!!Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
