  • 1979 XS100SF - Houston - $800

I recently lost my main means of income and am having to get rid of some toys. I am looking to sell my 79 XS1100 Special for $800, and the price is firm. I am located in Houston, TX. I do not have a title, but I do have the contact information of the title bearer (name, phone number, address, email). I bought the bike in November, and have slowly worked on it in my spare time. It is not running at the moment, because I took the gas tank and carbs off to fix them up. The carbs are currently being rebuilt by a mechanic friend, so they will be in good condition with new stainless allenhead bolts. The tank has been sandblasted and Gemmed in preparation to remove a dent, and repaint.

The bike is lacking the original front fender, octy, and side covers. Also, the carbs are from an 80 or 81 XS.

Additional parts for the bike are:
Original handlebars (bike has 75 Honda CB500T handlebars on it)
set of cleaned parts carbs (complete, but one carb has cracked housing)
extra set of front and rear brake calipers
2 extra sets of front forks
front fender from a different bike
    extra rear fender
extra rear grab bar and taillight from a different model XS1100
    extra driveshaft and rear differential
    new unused brake pads
    new unused carb boots
2 extra wiring harnesses from different year XS1100s
large box full of lots of extra electronic components, switches and lights
    extra engine guards w/road rash
extra front and rear master cylinders
new stainless allenhead bolt set for engine
    misc. extra parts

As I said, I'm in Houston, and the price is firm at $800.

I think I have listed everything about the bike, but I will try to answer any questions that anyone has about the bike.

    Thanks,

    -Rob

Just an update. I still have the bike. The carbs are rebuilt, and sitting in a box in my living room of all places. I just posted it on craigslist at:

The craigslist ad is pretty much just a cut and paste of this ad.

    Thanks,

      Miles

How many miles on it? I am in the market for one and I am about 3 hrs from Houston. Also , did you pull a compression test? If so, what are the readings?

I did check the compression on the bike back when I first had it in running condition, but I didn't write down the figures. If memory serves... I think it was pretty even across all four cylinders in the upper 130s. But I'm not gonna swear on that.

        The mileage is 28,744.

        Thanks,

        -Rob

He's down to $500 this week....
After sitting outside for a year with the carbs off, a couple hundred less and it might be a good deal.
