    I dont know much about midnights.But according to description it is black and gold.Did they make a midnight in 79?

    Nope. No real MNS in '79. However, the parts are interechangeable, and a PO may have done that. OR, it's not a '79, and actually an '80.

      Some people look at the mfg date on the steering head sticker, which is always a year older than the model year. An '80 would have a mfg date of '79.

      Black and gold...probably is an '80 MNS. If so, $1K would be a very good price if the bike is decent. My question is why would someone go through the trouble to fix it up, get his license, then not ride? Is there a hidden problem, like the transmission? Inquiring minds want to know....

        Well I know my 80 special was parked in 1983 by the po and he never rode it again.it had 588 miles on it two years ago when I bought it.His niece thought he was scared on it or something.

          I sent an e-mail asking for the first 3 numbers / letters of the VIN or engine number. No response yet, will post if I get one. I can't afford it, but maybe a member in the area would be intereste, particularly if it is a true MNS.

            If it is a mns I'll should be able to ride up and check it out this weekend.I need another bike like a hole in the head.But hey sometimes I just cant help myself.
            Especially if I can talk em down a bit.hmmmm

              You know Jerry,
              I am supposed to sell my buddy who lives in Littleton,Co. my SG next week.He has a friend who will be in Kellog Idaho June 10.I am supposed to take my bike over there and load it on this guys trailer to go back to Colorado.Maybe he'll have room for two on that trailer.

                Mine is a 1979f and it is black with gold pin stipes, stock, came that way, mybe that is what they ment by gold trim.
                And no way a MNS
